For eight years, the Bridges Conference has highlighted numerous collaborative projects among Higher Education, K-12 Schools and Educational Community partners. Last year’s event was canceled due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Prior to that, the Bridges conference has proved to be a unique and informative annual conference that highlighted K-12 / Higher Education partnerships and several featured presentations by distinguished educators . The conferences have featured many opportunities for networking to explore partnering opportunities. The annual conference is designed to address an area of education that has grown in importance and opportunity – partnerships between and among higher education, K-12 education, community based agencies and other educational entities. It also addresses educational topics that cut across all levels of education. The presentations have taken many forms and represent many unique and mutually beneficial projects. The conference is designed to showcase unique partnerships and to share ideas on project planning and implementation. This is your chance to share innovative bridge projects and ideas on how your institution collaborates in this space, or to present on a topic that has relevance for all educators. You are invited to submit a proposal to present at the 9th annual Higher Education – K-12 Bridges Conference.
Given recent events around the world, we will pay particular attention to presentations that focus on transitioning purposeful learning to the online environment.
Primary presenters or a designee for each session will be afforded a deeply discounted rate of $100 for full conference registration.

Student Poster Session
In 2019, we added a poster session for graduate students to showcase their research. In 2021, it will be back by popular demand. Once again, the P4CE Bridges Conference will offer an opportunity for education students to showcase their scholarly work in the form of a poster session, sponsored by Mercyhurst University, at the Sister Eustace Taylor Research Symposium following the conference’s keynote address. The purpose of the symposium is to encourage a scholarly, data driven approach to teaching by the next generation of educators, while allowing them to hear valuable feedback on their research from experts in the field. As such, the poster session is only open to undergraduate and graduate student presenters. All submissions should include a faculty mentor as a second author. Posters should concentrate on a topic related to the field of education, most preferably, on the presentation of new teaching strategies or programs, with the inclusion of research and data on the efficacy of the presented technique or program. Entries should be limited to one poster per student. The form and layout of the poster are at your discretion, but please respect the maximum width of 48 inches. The poster session will run concurrently with the wine and cheese social hour.

What are Bridge Projects?
Partners for Connections in Education (P4CE) was founded in 2012 as a non-profit organization committed to expanding educational equity and learning opportunities for all students. The landscape of education is continually in flux, thus increasing opportunities that are becoming more imperative for K-12 schools to partner with higher education, community agencies and other educational entities to enhance education. To that end, P4CE has established a mission to provide a public forum to showcase bridging projects that bring colleges, universities and other related agencies together with K-12 schools to enrich learning environments at all levels. The Bridges Conference highlight these partnering opportunities and also features topics that cut across multiple levels of education.

A Unique Venue!
The conference will once again be held at the Cape May Convention Center, fronting the beaches in Cape May, New Jersey. As one of the oldest shore destinations in the country, Victorian Cape May is a very popular travel destination. Another unique feature of the conference is that many overnight accommodations are provided by select bed and breakfasts at special conference rates. These establishments are a hallmark feature of this beautiful town. Hotel accommodations, at special conference rates, are also an option at historic facilities such as Congress Hall. More information will be made available on accessing these discounts when we open conference registration in the fall of 2020.
P4CE invites proposals for presentations that focus on collaborative projects among higher education, K-12 schools and/or other related educational partners. Our selection board also looks for topics that, although not based on partnerships, cut across multiple levels of education. P4CE encourages team presentations, which feature representatives from participating partners. Juried presentation proposals will be reviewed based on the merits of the partnership program or topic and the potential benefits to students and schools at the various levels of education.
Please use the Request for Presentation Proposal Submission Form to apply to be a presenter at the 2021 conference. Selections will be made in October and all applicants will be notified once reviews are completed.
